About the Event
This event highlights the best of Essex County's 7th and 8th grade young men as 7 participants present their thoughts on "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's perspectives on the world today."
This year's finalists are:
- Lateef Aiyemi- Clinton Hill Middle School- North Star Academy (7th Grade)
- Julius Carter- North Star Academy Middle School (7th Grade)
- Reeves Fils-Aime- Glenfield Middle School (7th Grade)
- Kamsiyochukwu Keke- Far Brook School (8th Grade)
- Zachary Richardson- Far Brook School (7th Grade)
- Raven G Williamson- KIPP Newark Community Prep (7th Grade)
- Zaa'khir Witherspoon- Marion P Thomas Charter School (8th Grade)
They will have up to 7 minutes and will be judged on 10 criteria for a chance to win cash awards, Chromebooks, and various other prizes.
